Bovill Lead Ltd were contracted to undertake all the bespoke lead work in the recent restoration of Carrickfergus Castle. This included the installation of new code 8 lead sheet roof covering to the internal roof structure. Bovill Lead also supplied and fitted lead gutters and downpipes, which were specially fabricated to match the castle’s existing rainwater system. The Bovill team worked closely with the castle’s architects and engineers to ensure that all the leadwork was sympathetic to the historic fabric of the building. The finished results are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, and have helped to secure the future of this important piece of Northern Irish heritage.
